Meet Sloppy Joe’s sophisticated cousin – Tidy Joan.
This dip has that classic Sloppy Joe taste but we add in some melted cheese and no extra sugar to get an addictive dip perfect for game day! This is served with chips to keep things less messy, but you can totally serve on sliders as well.

Serves: 4-6
USWM shopping list: Pasture Raised Ground Turkey 1 lb.
Here’s what you need to make this glorious dip:
- 1 lb US Wellness ground turkey
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 TBS ketchup
- 2 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup stock (veggie, chicken, beef all work)
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 TBS tapioca flour (or AP/GF flour)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided (dairy-free also works!)
Instructions:
Saute onion in olive oil until soft and add in your ground meat. Cook until there’s no pink, drain any excess fat, and add in your red pepper and garlic and season with salt and pepper. Saute for a few minutes before adding in the rest of the seasonings, stock, and tomato sauce. Let simmer on medium for a few minutes, and then stir in your flour. Turn the heat to medium-low and let simmer until thick (about 5-10 min). Turn off the heat, add 1 cup of cheese, and stir. Add the rest of the cheese on top and broil until melted. Enjoy!
This dip is delightful! We loved it with organic tortilla chips; it pairs beautifully with bell pepper slices, too! We even tried this dip with our 75% Lean Ground beef with Heart, Kidney, Liver ground, and Wowza, that’s good. For this and more recipes check out our USWM Discover Blog today!
