US Wellness Shopping List: 2.5 lb boneless Ham
INGREDIENTS:
- One 2.5lb boneless sugar free ham (mine was from US Wellness Meats)
For the rub:
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
For the glaze:
- 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- zest of 1/2 an orange
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 325 F and place the ham in a roasting; cut some paper thin slices in the ham (I did about 10).
- Combine the rub mixture in a bowl and then rub all over the ham. Make sure that some of the rub drop between the slices; Cover the ham with foil then place in the oven for 1-1.15 hrs-ish.
- When the ham is 30 min out from cooking, put a small saute pan over medium heat and whisk in all the glaze ingredients; Let reduce and keep stirring for 25 min, stirring every couple minutes to keep from sticking.
- When the ham is done cooking, remove the foil and drizzle about half the glaze on top of the entire ham.
- Once lathered, increase oven heat to 400 F and then put ham back in the oven for another 30 more min. If the ham looks a little dry still, feel free to add a few more tbsp of maple syrup on top.
- After the ham has visually browned on the outside, take out of the oven then drizzle the rest of the glaze on top.
- Serve!
