Italian Sausage and Peppers Recipe

This classic Italian sausage and peppers dish is a family favorite and a lifesaver on busy nights.  With just a few minutes of prep, everything roasts together on one sheet pan. Serve it as-is, pile it onto a sandwich with marinara, or make it part of your weekly meal prep.

Italian Beef Sausage Links – Fully Cooked Add to Cart

 Ingredients

  • 2 medium bell peppers, any color
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 pound Italian beef sausage links 
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • pinch crushed red pepper flakes, optional

 Instructions

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or foil and preheat the oven to 375˚F.
  2. Slice the bell peppers and onion thinly and place them in an even layer on the prepared sheet pan.
  3. Nestle the sausages between the peppers and onions so they are evenly spaced on the sheet pan.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Drizzle the mixture over the sausages, peppers, and onions and gently toss to coat.
  6. Roast for 35-45 minutes, until the sausages reach an internal temperature of 165°F and everything is golden brown.
