Scott,
We ate horribly on vacation for an entire week and are now dealing with the new body fat and sluggishness a week after. We have another trip down to Florida in two months and want to take a smarter approach this time around. What do you suggest? ~ Ben and Susan
Vacations are the perfect opportunity to change up the nutrition plan strategically while enjoying many foods that you do not normally eat. Some of the choices can be less than ideal food sources, but that must be contained to prevent the problems you both are encountering now. Check out the All You Can Eat Vacation Nutrition Plan to learn how to strike the proper balance to support your goals.
The Day 22 Carb Load does not include doughnuts, however it is still a great deal of fun and drives up fat burning hormones as part of a broader strategy for short and long term fat loss success. Email Scott@infinityfitness.com for a free copy of the complete day 22 carb load meal plan.
Do Not Let Hard Work Go To Waste
Looking great for a vacation is one of the leading motivation factors creating success that I have observed when working with successful transformation clients for nearly 20 years. However investing hard work into getting in great shape creates some anxiety towards the nutrition plan during the trip. It is ok to indulge in some desserts, breads, etc as long as you stay active. The better your behavior, the better your results.
Get out of Low Calorie Hell
Our clients use vacations to have a lot of fun, lower stress levels and to set up the metabolism for great rates of fat burning when they get home. Too many people are in a constant diet mode and down regulate their metabolism as well as fat burning hormones. Certain weeks of the year should involve a higher food intake including the right carbohydrate sources to provide strategic variety.
Many of our clients return from a trip even leaner than when they arrived which Dr. Serrano and I associate with reduced stress levels, rotating foods to alleviate food allergies and optimized fat burning hormones from a period of increased food intake and exercise such as water sports.

Food Rotation Benefits
A vacation is the perfect time to rotate your foods. Eating the same food choices over and over again causes food allergies, irritations and intolerances according to many years of blood test research performed by Dr. Eric Serrano MD. These poor reactions to food sources make body fat loss very difficult, crush energy, cause digestive problems and limit quality of life.
Drop the most common foods that you have been eating in exchange for new items while traveling. For example go for wild caught seafood as the protein sources for an entire week while on vacation in a tropical location where they are prepared to perfection. Go for tropical fruits that are not as common at home and other items that are appealing. Do not be afraid to try new things!
Clients notice less bloating, better energy, reduced joint pain, lower stress and feel leaner within days of rotating foods. Depending on many factors a food rotation week should be done at least 4 times a year.
Carbohydrates at Every Meal!
You can eat carbohydrates at every meal from the right sources along with preferably healthy protein and dietary fat sources. Keep activity levels high with water sports, general activity, weight training, beach volley ball and more while on vacation since carbohydrates are activity dependent.
Keep The Thyroid In Mind
Using a low carb approach for too long can cause thyroid levels and other important fat burning hormonal markers to drop like a rock. This is one of the reasons why our clients have great fat burning success with the Day 22 Carb Load following the 21-Day Fat Cell Cleanse.
