2020 US Wellness Meats Featured Chef Q&A

Tell us about yourself:

I am a full time mom of two and content creator, located in Birmingham, AL. I’m married to my college sweetheart and together we are raising our sons Leyton and Finn. I am passionate about providing my family healthy options to fuel their bodies for our busy days!

How did you get involved in cooking?

I started my healthy living website seven years ago and wanted to find ways to help busy women live a healthy lifestyle and make healthy choices. I started creating healthy recipes that weren’t too complicated and that were doable on a budget. Since then I’ve been passionate about creating healthy recipes that don’t skimp on flavor.

Describe your cooking style:

I try to keep things simple. Our lifestyle is typically on the go, so our family dinners are made with healthy, wholesome ingredients that I know will leave everyone feeling satisfied. Having my easy recipes on hand means I don’t need to spend all afternoon in the kitchen preparing dinner.

How did you learn about grass-fed meats?

I learned about grass-fed meats through social media and I’ve been anxious to learn more ever since.

What is your favorite recipe featuring grass-fed meat?

I love using pasture raised chicken to make my jalapeno popper crock pot chicken, and grass fed beef to make my sweet potato bun sliders!

You’re stranded on a desert island; luckily, you’re stranded with your top 5 ingredients and one must-have kitchen tool:

I would have grass-fed chicken, grass-fed beef, sweet potatoes, cauliflower and everything but the bagel seasoning. My kitchen tool would be the Ninja Foodie!

Best cooking secret/tip/piece of advice you’ve learned:

It doesn’t have to be unhealthy to leave you feeling full and satisfied.
