IN THE KITCHEN WITH AZZA GALLAB

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Azza. I’m a first generation Sudanese American Artist, Alchemist & Experience Architect. I am also the founder of Haremesque, a luxury online potion boutique & MicrobiYUM a community that explores health & nutrition in the most delicious and digestible way.

How did you get involved with cooking?

The women in my family are all amazing chefs, so they were my initial inspiration. I’m naturally very curious, so I started experimenting in the kitchen at a very young age. I used to have a sweet tooth, so I initially I learned how to bake. As I got deeper into my health journey, cooking eventually became part of my lifestyle.

How did you learn about grass-fed meats?

I am very health and environmentally conscious. I had a lot of digestive and health issues growing up. I became very serious about where I source my food when I started learning more about the gut microbiome. I came across grass-fed meat when I initially started my nutrition research. Some of my favorite authors/proponents of sustainable eating are Dr. Ronda Patrick, Dr. Mark Hyman and Dave Asprey.

What is your favorite recipe featuring grass-fed meat?
