Tell us about yourself:

Hi! my name is Alena and I am a personal chef in my own household. I create easy and quick recipes that are flavorful and delicious. I show my love though my cooking and and always happy to cook by requests! Besides cooking, I love to be out in the sunshine and enjoy walks, fishing and catching sunsets.

How did you get involved in cooking?

I grew up eating home cooked meals daily by my mother who had 6 kids. The memories of coming home from school to a fresh meal was something so special, and it grew on me. Growing up I didn’t cook very much or had the chance to cook much but once I got married I wanted to do the same for my family. It’s the best feeling to have a fresh homemade hot meal waiting for my loved ones. My mother was really good at using up everything in the fridge and no wasted food. I try my best to do the same and that is where I’ve come up with my own recipes and that are also quick and easy!

Describe your cooking style:

I focus on simple but flavorful! Recipes that can be cooked by anyone and loved by all. Flavor is the key to any meal I serve, which means using high quality Ingredients!

How did you learn about grass-fed meats?

After dealing with gut issues year after year, I learned and tested that high quality ingredients including grass-fed meats helped me feel better and be in control of how I feel! Since then I’ve always been on the lookout for organic grass fed meats and ran into US wellness account through Instagram.

What is your favorite recipe featuring grass-fed meat?

I love beef chow mein stir fry! It’s loved by everyone, and no one complains about the veggies! It’s the perfect recipe to use up all those forgotten veggies and add in high quality beef stir fry for the protein and make it a whole meal. And everyone wants the leftovers always, that’s if there is any left 🙂

You’re stranded on a desert island; luckily, you’re stranded with your top 5 ingredients and one must-have kitchen tool:

Chicken
Salt
Olive oil
Spring mix
Chocolate!!
Cast iron skillet

Best cooking secret/tip/piece of advice you’ve learned:

Don’t be afraid to learn to cook and test new recipes. If you mess up it’s not the end of the world. You can fix most of your mess ups. You can add water to an over salted soup, or add sauce to over-salted meats. It’s never too late to add a bit of salt to the top of a finished meal that was under-salted.

What’s your favorite quote/song for culinary inspiration (if any)?

I love the saying “you are what you eat” and I try to remember that always when I do get carried away with too much unhealthy snacks or foods. The best we can do for ourselves is nourish and feed our body with food that will make us feel good and not the opposite. Food plays a big role in our day to day activities and focus.
