Scott, what training methods do you suggest to get rid of stubborn body fat? I have trouble with belly fat while my wife has a lot of body fat accumulation around her thighs and buttocks that are extremely stubborn. We are both doing two hours of cardio and training 4 to 5 times each week for at least 60 minutes. What else can we do? Mike.
Getting rid of stubborn body fat requires five relatively short exercise sessions per week that create an ideal metabolic and hormonal environment for 48 hours following each well executed workout. Performing the Strive for 5 strategy which includes weight training, fat burning intervals and afterburners puts clients into an elevated fat burning status throughout the 7 day week. Mike, you guys need to shift to a quality over quantity approach to create a hormonal and metabolic environment necessary to get rid of stubborn and overall body fat. At the present time you are likely overtraining which increases the stress hormones associated with stubborn body fat accumulation, muscle wasting and low energy.
Boost Fat Burning Hormones
The Cluster 6 Pause training system is excellent for getting rid of stubborn body fat as the rest periods are short, the set durations are in the 50 to 60 second range and the superset executions allow for accomplishing a lot of work into a 30 to 40 minute training session. Furthermore, the strategic pauses built into the sets help to increase fat burning hormones due to their challenging nature. Highly dense training sessions will increase lactic acid which is responsible for the burning sensation within the muscles during training. High levels of lactic acid serve as a pre-cursor for growth hormone which is a very powerful fat burning agent.
Rapid Fat Burning Intervals
I would shift the focus to Rapid Fat Burning Intervals twice per week which last 15 to 25 minutes pending the conditioning levels of the client. These sessions will be very challenging, yet extremely rewarding due to a high sense of accomplishment. Afterburners are steady state cardio sessions done following the intervals to take full advantage of fat burning conditions created.

The correct nutrition approach is necessary to get rid of stubborn body fat and for most clients involves flexible fasting protocols built into the 21 Day Fat Cell Cleanse, Day 22 Carb Load and High Calorie Day Systems.
Flexible Fasting
Fasted periods ranging from 12 to 20 hours are highly effective for getting rid of stubborn body fat since they help to optimize insulin sensitivity and to assist in the Fat Cell Cleansing Process. The positioning of fasted periods depends on the timing of exercise sessions as it is ideal to consume the largest meal of the day within an hour following the training session. Base meals on a high intake of organic dietary fats and grass-fed beef to spark fat burning and highly daily energy. Targeting carbohydrate intake strategically is highly rewarding and very helpful for fat burning following a low carb intake period.
